The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Habit 1~Be Proactive
"Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that's why it comes first. It says, "I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger."
To be proactive, is to finally take charge in your life. It's when you finally show yourself that you're able to be active and productive at the same time. You want to make yourself more involved. Don't waste your time thinking of stuff that you can do, but actually take the first step and do it. That's what this first habit is about. An example of being proactive would be that I have the whole weekend to do what i desire. I give myself two options. Option 1, Slouch around all day and do nothing but stay home. Option 2, I can look on my schoology and finish all my late and missing work. I decide to go with option two. So then i finish all my work and i decide to work in IDP. I decide to work on IDP instead of procrastinating and waiting till the next day. That is being proactive.

Habit 2~Begin with the End in Mind
"Control your own destiny or someone else will." (Jack Welch)
This means to make sure that you are aware that you're in charge of your life. Most people want to be remembered in a positive way. they want to leave this world with an impact. This is where you choose your own destiny. Do you want to live a life of achievements or failures? This part of the 7 habits is more focused on what the mind and body is capable of. What are we capable of as humans? We are capable of almost anything. Success is always an option. You just have to remind yourself that you are capable of it That it's all up to you. No one but you can make the decisions that affect or alter your destiny. You are in charge of your faith, unless you make the mistake of giving the power to someone other than yourself.
Habit 3~Put First Things First
"Organize and execute around priorities."
Make priorities! Organize your schedule. Make sure you put your necessities before your wants. Focus on things that are going to help you out in the long run. For example, if you know what the most important thing you need is right now. then choose the right and follow that path. Let say you have 50 bucks. You have been needing a pair of shoes but you just found out there's video game on a sale. Before you make a decision like that make sure you think about it first. What's more neccesary? What is going to last you longer, these are very big decisions. This all relates back to choosing the right and being a CTR person. Once you earn how to manage your responsibilities, you start to get on the rode of being more successful.]
Habit 4~Think Win-Win
"Think win-win or no deal."
Always Keep A Positive attitude! Never doubt yourself. Try and always keep in mid that you're going win and be successful. If you stay gloomy and pessimistic, the chances of you actually succeeding aren't that high. For example, let's say I have a test for English tomorrow. I'm really nervous for it and i start to think "oh man I'm going to fail ugh". All that I'm doing is adding more stress to my plate. Now let's change mt negative attitude into a positive one. So instead I walk into class with a positive attitude telling myself that I'm going to pass. You also need to keep in mind that not only does your negative attitude affect you nut it also affects other people. Of course you wouldn't want to affect people in a bad way because that's choosing the wrong. You always want to be a CTR person.
Habit 5~Seek First to Understand, than to be Understood
"Diagnose before you prescribe."
Always try and understand people before they understand you. I feel as if this kind of relates back to "Treat others how you would want to be treated". You can't expect people to understand what you think or what your beliefs are, if you don't understand them. It's very important to bee open minded when you're trying to understand someone because you actually might not like how they think. I'm sure they themselves could be very open minded when it comes to trying to understand you.
